Civil War Vet Dies at Soldiers' Home
Mistaking a poison for medicine, Edward Tigh, 87, Omaha Civil War Veteran, died late Sunday at the Soldier's home in Grand Island. He was conscious until shortly before his death, and explained what occurred.
Mr. Tigh had resided at 8924 North Thirty-Sixth Street until last fall. His wife, Elizabeth, was notified of his death in Omaha today and immediately left for Grand Island. During the Civil War, Mr. Tigh served with the Sixth Missouri Infantry. He had lived in Omaha almost fifty years, and worked at the plastering trade until last fall.
